The Carpenters' Craft Competition is a national competition open to students of carpentry, joinery and shopfitting. It gives outstanding students the chance to showcase their work and have it judged by leaders in the field.
With prizes of up to £500 available, the competition aims to encourage and reward highly motivated students who are prepared to go that extra mile to achieve the highest possible standards.
Success in this prestigious competition gives students a head start in their chosen vocation having achieved official recognition of their exceptional skills and high calibre workmanship.
There are opportunities to take part at both a regional and national level, with students from over 200 colleges nationwide eligible to take part.

Eligibility Criteria & Key Dates
The competition is open to students of carpentry, joinery and shopfitting who are registered at a college or recognised training centre.
Registration for the competition will be open from 1 October 2024 and the closing date for registering your entry is 31 March 2025. Entries received after this date will only be accepted at the Competition Manager's discretion. Once you registration is completed, you have until 31 May 2025 to send your final test piece for judging.
Preliminary judging of entries will be undertaken in each relevant regional area of the Institute of Carpenters during June, with the national judging taking place on the first Saturday in July 2025 (subject to confirmation).
